Mirfield Rotary Club’s first Room 101 night was a great success. Several Rotarians brought their items to be put in Room 101. The items were only allowed in if the audience and Paul (Merton) Cusworth agreed that it was a deserved binning. Items or Room 101 were: Fawlty Towers, a TV classic that was saved from the dreaded room by overwhelming support. Gill Poole who put forward this item will be sent on an intensive course on humour shortly! |

Mirfield Rotary Club met on Monday evening at Dewsbury & District Golf Club, when the speaker was Elaine Kaye, the fund raising manager for the N.S.P.C.C. It was most interesting to hear how and why the N.S.P.C.C. was formed and what interesting and intensive work is carried out by the society. As one of the Mirfield Rotary Clubs presidents chosen charities for this year, a cheque for £500 was presented from Mirfield Rotary Club to the N.S.P.C.C by President Roy Carrington, who also gave the vote of thanks. |

The clubs Christmas bash will be held at Dewsbury golf club on the evening of the 22nd Dec. Fun and frolics will be had by all as the evening will consist of a delicious 3 course meal of Christmas fayre, a quiz evening to test everyone’s little grey cells by guessing who the Rotarian baby is and a guest celebrity quiz. For those that remember there will also be a Call my Bluff quiz with a panel of exuberant Rotarians trying to fool you into thinking they are right and you are wrong (so what’s new). So come along and bring your friends to this fantastic evening. |
